ROUND ROCK – Huston-Tillotson University's women's soccer team remained undefeated on their primary home pitch in 2025 as the Rams defeated North American (Texas) 2-0 Sunday afternoon.
On Field No. 2 at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex, striker
Caroline Valencia (Burnet, Texas / Burnet) netted both HT goals less than three minutes apart to seal the win for the Rams. The sophomore transfer from Oklahoma Wesleyan has all three match-winning goals for the Rams (3-3-1).
Valencia was in the right spot in the goal box to receive a pass from
Nathalia Herreros (New York, N.Y. / Hill College) and give the Rams a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute.
Lincy Villatoro (Los Angeles, Calif. / Texas A&M International) was also credited with an assist on the play.
In the 25th minute, Valencia's strike from approximate 14 yards off a pass from
Sara De Jesus Lira (Buda, Texas / Johnson) stretched the Rams' lead to 2-0.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Juliet Morales-Martinez (Burnet, Texas / Burnet) made three saves in the first half to earn the win. Teammate
Zoey Gonzales (Austin, Texas / Connally) made a save working the second half in goal for the Rams.
The Rams outshot the visiting Stallions (0-7) 19-9 during the match.
Sunday's match was the second consecutive contest for the Rams at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex after starting the season with five true road matches. The Rams drew 0-0 with Concordia Texas on Wednesday, Sept. 10; the Multipurpose Complex is also the designated home field for Concordia's soccer teams.
Huston-Tillotson returns to action Thursday, Sept. 18, when the women's and men's soccer teams visit Texas A&M–Victoria (formerly known as the University of Houston at Victoria) for a doubleheader. The women kick off at 1 p.m.
