Danelle McCullough led the HT defense with seven digs.
Texas A&M–Texarkana, winners of seven of their first eight RRAC matches, got 10 kills apiece from Paulina Dobreva and Kaitlyn Cabral.
The Eagles set the pace in set one by scoring 11 of the match's first 12 points. HT countered with 3-1 runs thrice during the set, but it was not enough to keep Texarkana from taking set one.
The Rams fell behind 9-3 in set two but responded scoring five of the next seven points to pull to within three of their visitors. Later in the set, the Rams used a 5-1 run to cut a seven-point Texarkana lead to 20-17. Munoz had a kill, an assist and a solo block in consecutive points as HT trimmed a 20-14 lead to three points.
Set three saw four tie scores as the teams seemingly traded points in the early going. Texarkana pulled away with 10 consecutive points that turned an 11-8 lead to a 13-point advantage.
Kadyn Smith tallied two kills and two blocks for the Rams in Saturday's match. Munoz and Gaytan recorded six digs apiece.
The Rams return to action Wednesday, Oct. 9, when they host Schreiner in a non-conference match. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. at HT's Branch Gymnasium.
