AUSTIN – Huston-Tillotson University's volleyball team chalked up another match into the win column Monday as the Rams defeated Texas College in three sets.

Scores of the match were 25-12, 25-18, and 25-11.

Sydnee Jordan led the HT attack with eight kills and a team-high 11 points scored.
Adeja Peterson put away six kills, while
Kendall Bennett and
Chloe Gaytan knocked down five kills apiece.

Elaina Spriggins was HT's leader in first and second touches, as she tallied match highs of 13 digs and 27 assists. Gaytan and Peterson each had eight digs in the match.

The Rams never trailed in Monday's match and opened the contest with nine consecutive points. The visiting Steers gave their best showing in set two when they reduced HT's eight-point lead to 14-12 with six consecutive points. Texas College was within three points late in the set before HT scored five of the final six to win the second set.

A 9-1 HT run early in set three gave the Rams a comfortable 13-4 advantage. The Rams put the exclamation point on the match win with six consecutive points to end the contest.

The Rams and Steers conclude their two-match series Tuesday at HT's Mary E. Branch Gymnasium. First serve is scheduled for noon.
