Taylor Fisher was named to the NAIA's South Central All-Region Team by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, leading the Rams' haul of regional and conference honors.
Fisher, from nearby Del Valle, Texas, transferred to HT from NCAA Division II program Henderson State (Ark.) in time for the 2025 season. She was a key contributor to HT's 2025 team that saw a nine-win improvement from last season, and finished with a 10-2 record in the HBCU Athletic Conference's West Division.
The HBCUAC and its coaches also recognized Fisher's outstanding season for the Rams, as she was named the conference's Defender of the Year and placed on the All-HBCUAC First Team along with teammates
Lindsey Morris and
Jordis Taylor.
Fisher ranked fourth in the HBCUAC with an average of 4.1 digs per set. Her 36 service aces also ranked in the conference's top 10.
Morris, a freshman from Waco, Texas, was named the HBCUAC's Freshman of the Year in addition to her first team all-conference honors. She led the Rams and ranked seventh in the conference with 2.72 kills per set. Morris was also one of HT's best front-row defenders, as she was in on 35 total blocks and also tallied 67 digs for the Rams.
A freshman from Vancouver, Wash., Taylor's all-around talent was a key component of HT's success this season. When playing on the back row, she was HT's top setter, leading the team and ranking sixth in the conference with 5.07 assists per set (436 total assists). As an attacker when she rotates to the front row, Taylor put away 101 kills (1.17 kills per set), and led the team with a .233 hitting percentage.
In addition to being placed on the All-HBCUAC First Team, Morris and Taylor also earned AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention.
The Rams also had a representative on the All-HBCUAC Second Team, as frontline player
Hayley Broussard was honored by the league. A freshman from West Columbia, Texas, Broussard ranked among the top 10 in the conference in both blocks per set (0.8) and 69 total blocks. She also tallied 128 kills (1.49 kills per set) and hit .208 in her first collegiate season.
Other postseason honorees for the Rams included freshman Mackenzie Taylor, who was named to the All-HBCUAC All-Tournament team during HT's run to the conference semifinals. She knocked down 11 kills and hit .429 in two tournament matches, which included a nine-kill showing in the Rams' five-set win over Oakwood (Ala.).
Senior and four-year letterwinner
