DUBUQUE, Iowa Huston-Tillotson University's volleyball team concluded their trip to the Midwest with two more matches Saturday at the Clarke University Home Tournament.

The Rams return to action Friday and Saturday, Sept. 4 and 5, when they head east to participate in Clark Atlanta University's Lady Panther Invitational. HT will match up against three HBCUs from the NCAA's Division II, including the host institution, as well as HBCU Athletic Conference East Division program Talladega (Ala.).

Waldorf (Iowa) 3, HT Rams 1
In HT's first Saturday match at Clarke (Iowa), the Rams joined the company of six other programs who shared an unwanted common bond – a setback to Waldorf's volleyball team.

Waldorf, a member institution of the Great Plains Athletic Conference, improved to 7-0 with the four-set win over the Rams. Scores of the match were 23-25, 25-13, 26-24, and 25-19.

Jordis Taylor led the Rams with a triple-double, tallying 10 kills, 25 assists, and 11 digs. Freshman Brandi Edmonds put away nine kills, while Madison Herrera handed out 24 assists.

On the defense, junior Aniyah Asberry tallied a career-high 22 digs, while Malaya Bennett recorded 17 digs in addition to seven kills. Hayley Broussard was credited with six assisted blocks.

The Rams gave Waldorf (7-0) one of their more competitive matches of the season, as the Warriors have swept four of their previous opponents.

Clarke (Iowa) 3, HT Rams 1
The Rams faced host Clarke for the second time in two days to conclude their weekend in Iowa. Scores of the match were 25-17, 27-25, 23-25, and 25-19.

Taylor again led the HT offense in a competitive showing, putting down 11 kills and 11 assists; Herrera handed out a team-high 20 assists. Edmonds and Lindsey Morris each had six kills, while Edmonds was in on five blocks.

Asberry (15 digs) and Bennett (13 digs) again led the defense for the Rams.
