Rams sweep four weekly HBCUAC women's soccer awards

NEW ORLEANS – Huston-Tillotson University striker Mariyah McCrae wins Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Women's Soccer Offensive Player and Newcomer of the Week. Goalkeeper Juliet Morales-Martinez claims Defensive Player of the Week. Emili Taclibon earns Freshman of the Week. They were recognized for their performance between September 7-13, the conference announced on Monday.
 
McCrae recorded a hat trick and provided two assists in the Rams' victory over Texas College on Sunday. She is the first player to score three or more goals since 2022. Her eight points is the highest by a Ram since before the pandemic. She assisted on a goal in Tuesday's victory over Texas Wesleyan, which was Huston-Tillotson's first over the Fort Worth-based Rams since 2014.
 
Morales-Martinez posted her second individual shutout, stopping four shots and disrupting other scoring chances. The victory moved her into sixth place on Huston-Tillotson's all-time wins list.
 
Taclibon tallied multi-point games in both of Huston-Tillotson's matches last week. She scored and provided an assist on the match-winning goal in the Rams' victory over Texas Wesleyan on Tuesday. She scored twice in the second half of Sunday's rout over Texas College.
