Chase Almendarez is entering his second season as the HT Rams Head Coach. In his first season he guided the Rams to a 14-32 overall record.
Almendarez came HT after working with the Round Rock Express (Triple-A Affiliate for the Texas Rangers) as the Manager of Baseball Operations. In this role, he oversaw all baseball-related aspects of the organization, including team travel, umpire coordination and all amateur baseball events, including the annual UIL State Baseball Championships, THSBCA All-Star Games and Round Rock College Classic at Dell Diamond. He also served as the Director for Express Camps, managing and overseeing over 40 youth and high school camps since 2018.
In April 2021. Almendarez assisted the Texas Rangers Alternate Site operation, aiding with daily practices and workouts, serving as a first base coach and coordinating all travel logistics for the squad.
In 2020, he served as Head Coach for the Round Rock Hairy Men in the Texas Collegiate League, where he managed the team to a first-place position in its division and built a strong rapport with players, coaches, support staff and fans.
The Round Rock native returned home after two years at the University of Houston-Victoria, where he played two seasons for the Jaguars. In 2018, he was named to the Google/CoSIDA Academic All-American team and was also recognized as a finalist for the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award. He earned his undergraduate degree in Communications from UHV in May 2018 and was awarded Daktronics/NAIA Scholar athlete honors in 2017 and 2018, along with Red River Athletic Conference Scholar Athlete honors.
Almendarez played two seasons of junior college baseball at Cisco College and Eastfield College, earning his associates degree from Eastfield in May 2016. Prior to college, Almendarez attended Round Rock High School, where he was a two-year letterman on the varsity baseball team.
