WOMEN'S HOOPS: Rams prepare for Rapides road trip

PINEVILLE, La. – Huston-Tillotson University's women's basketball team continues its stretch of four consecutive road games this week with a trip to Rapides Parish in central Louisiana.
 
The Rams visit Louisiana Christian in Pineville, La., on Thursday, Jan. 18, and conclude their trip Saturday, Jan. 20, at nearby LSU–Alexandria.

• Huston-Tillotson snapped a five-game losing streak Saturday with a convincing 59-43 win at Paul Quinn College in Dallas.
• The Rams are 4-1 on the road this season and won three of their four Red River Athletic Conference road games.
• HT ranks 13th in the NAIA in offensive rebounding (16.3 per game). The Rams also rank in the top ten nationally in points allowed per game (54.0, eighth), and opposition 3-point percentage (22.3 percent, second).
Dyana Offutt leads the Rams in scoring, averaging 14.9 points per game.
• Freshman post Danielle Porter was named the Red River Athletic Conference's Player of the Week after averaging 18.0 points and 14.0 rebounds per game in HT's last two contests. For the season, Porter is averaging 10.3 points and a team-best 7.5 rebounds per contest.
 
About the Wildcats
• Louisiana Christian (formerly known as Louisiana College) is in its third season as a member institution of the NAIA and the Red River Athletic Conference, having transitioned from the NCAA's Division III.
• The Wildcats (6-6) are 3-5 in RRAC play, with wins over Texas A&M–Texarkana, Paul Quinn, and Texas College.
• LCU is 4-1 at home this season, which includes non-conference NAIA wins over Dillard and Wiley College.
• The Wildcats are among the best in the nation at getting to the free throw line, as they rank fifth in the NAIA in both free throw attempts (24.7) and free throws made (17.1).
• Princis Goff, a sophomore transfer from LSU–Eunice, is the team's leading scorer. The 5-foot-9 forward leads the RRAC in scoring with 21.8 points per contest.

• LCU has won two of the three previous meetings between the two teams, including both games in Pineville.
• The teams split their two contests last season, with each team winning at home.
