RAPIDES PARISH, La. – Huston-Tillotson University's women's soccer team hits the road this week for contests against a pair of formidable opponents when they visit Louisiana Christian and LSU–Alexandria.
The Rams aim to add to their stretch of getting points in two of their last three games, having tied Southwest (N.M.) 2-2 on Saturday. HT's soccer doubleheader against Paul Quinn College scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 10, was postponed due to circumstances outside of Huston-Tillotson's control.
The Rams will start their trip with a challenging road fixture Thursday when visit the Wildcats of Louisiana Christian University. The 'Cats are in third-place in the 14-team Red River Athletic Conference.
HT looks to build off their performance Saturday, when the Rams scored two quick goals in the second half and led 2-0 with 77 minutes remaining. Sophomore midfielder
Alondra Quiroz leads the Rams with three goals this season; she scored the second of HT's two goals in the draw with Southwest (N.M.)
Cheyanna Burnett-Griffith, Kayla Evans, and
Izabella Olivo have scored two goals apiece for the Rams in 2024. Burnett-Griffith scored twice in the team's 4-0 win at Texas College, while Evans scored both HT goals in a loss at Jarvis Christian.
Freshman goalkeeper Juliet Morales-Martinez has started all nine matches in goal for the Rams and has a 2.78 goals-against average. She made a career-high 11 saves against Southwest.

About the Wildcats
• LCU brings an impressive strength-of-schedule into their matchup with the Rams. The Wildcats have secured points in six of their seven games RRAC matches with this season, with their lone blemish coming against first-place LSU–Shreveport.
• Overall, the Wildcats are 6-4-2, with their losses coming against top competition.
• In addition to their setback against front-running LSU–Shreveport, the 'Cats other losses were to William Carey (Miss.), which was then the No. 2-ranked team in the NAIA, and to in-state NCAA Division I programs Southern and McNeese State.
• Emma Monnet's eight goals lead the Wildcats.
• Jaycee Woods has played every minute in goal for the 'Cats, and has a 1.25 goals-against average.
Series Outlook
• Louisiana Christian has won all four meetings with the Rams in a series that dates back to 2021, when the Wildcats returned to the NAIA after 20 years as an NCAA Division III member institution.
• The 'Cats and Rams met twice in 2021, with the LCU winning 3-2 in Round Rock during the regular season.
• The Wildcats then defeated HT in the second round of the 2021 RRAC Tournament.

About the Generals
• HT's road trip doesn't get any easier on Saturday, as LSU–Alexandria is in sixth place on the RRAC table. With only one conference loss, the Generals are firm control of their postseason destiny and will aim for higher positioning heading into the postseason.
• The Generals saw their four-match win streak snapped last Thursday against first-place LSU–Shreveport but salvaged the weekend with a 3-3 draw with Texas A&M–Texarkana.
• Micaela Nunes and Ksenija Pavlovic lead the Generals with seven goals apiece. Teammate Remmie Ferla is right behind them with six goals.
• Goalkeeper Victoria Weber has made nine of LSUA's 11 starts and has a 5-2-2 record with three shutouts. She allows an average of 1.38 goals per contest.
Series Outlook
• LSU–Alexandria leads the series with Huston-Tillotson 7-2 dating back to the first season of Generals soccer in 2014.
