Box Score ROUND ROCK, Texas – Huston-Tillotson University's women's soccer team opened the 2024 season Friday with a road contest against Concordia Texas.
The host Tornados won the match by a score of 4-1.
In a competitive match played at Huston-Tillotson's former home pitch, the Rams scored their first goal of 2024 in the 23rd minute when Jennifer Cruz leveled the score off a pass from Cheyenna Burnett-Griffith.
Concordia took the lead for good in the 24th minute with a goal from Patricia Heckendorn. The Tornados added two more goals in the second half.
Juliet Morales-Martinez made her Huston-Tillotson debut Friday and made eight saves in goal for the Rams.
The Rams return to action Friday, Sept. 6, when they visit Schreiner as part of a women's-and-men's doubleheader with the Mountaineers. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. in Kerrville, Texas.
