HAWKINS, Texas – Due to heavy rainfall in Northeast Texas, Huston-Tillotson's season-opening women's soccer match Thursday at Jarvis Christian has been postponed. A makeup date has yet to be scheduled.
Â
The new-look women's soccer team was set to make their season debut under the direction of newly hired head coach
Oriol Gimeno, but the Rams will have to wait to rematch their former Red River Athletic Conference rival.
Â
The Rams (0-0) will now open the season Monday, Aug. 25, when they travel to nearby Georgetown to visit the Pirates of Southwestern (Texas) in a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at SU's Varsity Soccer Field, located on the Georgetown campus.
Â
HT's visit to Southwestern will be the first matchup between the Rams' women's soccer team and the Pirates since a 1-1 draw between the two teams in 2022. The Rams' last match in Georgetown was in 2024, when HT's soccer teams needed to move a doubleheader against Southwest (N.M.) from their usual home field.
Â
A makeup date for the Rams' contest against Jarvis Christian will be announced at htramsathletics.com, and on the Rams' athletic social media channels.
