AUSTIN – Huston-Tillotson University's women's basketball team was unable to complete a weekly home sweep of the HBCU Athletic Conference's New Orleans programs as Dillard claimed a 70-41 victory Saturday.
At HT's Branch Gymnasium, the visiting Bleu Devils (7-10) outscored their hosts in every quarter as they improved their league record to 4-4.
Senior forward Wilashia Burleson led the Rams with 15 points off the HT bench. Graduate student Destiny Stanford scored 10 points for the Rams.
Dillard frontliner D'Mya Ferguson led her team with 22 points on 10-of-18 shooting.
The Rams trailed 30-19 at halftime, but it was the third quarter when Dillard pulled away. After HT opened the second half with a basket from Hayley Broussard, the visitors scored the next 16 points. The Rams' next field goal was a 3-pointer from Jade Hilliary to cut Dillard's lead to 46-24.

The Rams begin a two-game road trip this week, starting with a visit to Little Rock to face Philander Smith (Ark.). Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
