PINEVILLE, La. – Huston-Tillotson University's men's soccer team saw its two-match winning streak snapped Thursday at the hands – or more accurately, feet – of Louisiana Christian by a score of 5-0.
At LCU's Wildcat Football and Soccer Field, the home side got two goals apiece from Shakeem Walters and Adrian Amoros Navarro as the 'Cats (9-2-2) improved to 6-1-1 in Red River Athletic Conference play.
Chances were few and far between for the Rams (3-4-2, 2-4-1 RRAC), who were outshot 27-4 by the NAIA's No. 25-ranked program.
Christian Kisukulu's shot in the 54th minute was the only HT attempt on target.
Walters gave the 'Cats the lead in the 17th minute with a strike that was assisted by Navarro. Navarro assisted on both of Walters' goals, giving him two goals and two assists for the evening.
The Rams return to action Saturday, Oct. 19, when they visit nearby LSU–Alexandria. Kickoff between the Generals and Rams is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
