AUSTIN – Huston-Tillotson University's men's basketball team was denied a victory in its first true home game of the 2024-25 season Thursday as Louisiana Christian claimed a 64-48 win over the Rams.
At HT's Branch Gymnasium,
Braelon Seals led the Rams with 11 points, while
Charles Hallmon added 10 points for Huston-Tillotson. LCU's Corey Lombard scored a game-high 14 points and blocked six shots off the Wildcat bench.
The game was evenly contested throughout the first half as the Wildcats took a 32-31 lead into halftime. The visitors pulled away in the second half when LCU held the Rams scoreless for six and a half minutes while scoring seven unanswered points to build a 50-37 lead with less than seven minutes remaining in the game.
Jackson Byas and
Isaiah Halliburton scored eight points apiece for the Rams. Halliburton also tallied four assists and four steals in the game.
The Rams return to action Saturday, Nov. 23, when they host Xavier (La.) in the second game of a women's-and-men's doubleheader. The men's game is scheduled to tipoff at approximately 3 p.m.
