AUSTIN – Huston-Tillotson University's men's basketball team was unable to split their first weekend home series Saturday as Xavier (La.) claimed a 70-48 over the Rams.
At HT's Branch Gymnasium, the Gold Rush led from start to finish as they held the Rams to 21.1 percent shooting (12 of 57) from the floor. Three Xavier players scored 10 points apiece to lead the Gold Rush.

Charles Hallmon turned in a double-double performance to lead the Rams, scoring 18 points and pulling in 11 rebounds. He made 11 out of his 14 free throw attempts and blocked a shot in the game.
Braelon Seals scored nine points for the Rams, while
Jackson Byas chipped in eight points and eight rebounds for HT.
Malkeyce Harris came off the HT bench to score five points.
Xavier scored the first eight and 12 of the game's first 15 points. Later runs eight and six unanswered points in the first half gave the Gold Rush a 39-22 halftime advantage.
The Rams return to action right after Thanksgiving when they host North American (Texas) in the second game of a women's-and-men's doubleheader Saturday, Nov. 30. The men's game is scheduled for an approximate tipoff time of 3 p.m.
