NEW ORLEANS – Huston-Tillotson men's soccer player
Manuel 'Lito' Guevara earned two of the HBCU Athletic Conference's weekly awards as he was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week for his performances during the week of Sept. 1 through 7.
A freshman from Del Valle, Texas (Del Valle HS), Guevara netted the tying and winning goals in HT's 3-1 win at Texas Lutheran on Sept. 2. He also assisted on
Manuel Nunez' match-winning goal in the 87th minute of HT's 2-1 win at Arlington Baptist three days later.
Guevara is HT's leading scorer through their first six matches of 2025, having scored three goals and one assist thus far during the season. He also scored in HT's 3-1 win at Concordia Texas to open the season.
The two awards claimed by Guevara this week are the first two weekly conference honors for an HT men's soccer player since joining the HBCU Athletic Conference in July.
